tewmom > October 15, 2009 Sunset at the lake I was on the highway heading home from work, when I noticed how beautiful the skies looked. I quickly jumped off the exit and went to the lake, keeping an eye on the sky I looked for a good spot to take a picture. I parked the car, jumped out with my G10 in hand and luckily there happened to be a sign that I was able to balance the camera on and quickly took 3 bracketed shots. I merged them together using PSCS3 HDR Merge to end up with the final shot. It was a beautiful sunset, I wish that I had left the office 10 minutes earlier, but I will take this. There are many more sunsets to capture here, I drive by it every night. Have a great day everyone!

tewmom > July 25, 2009 Cash for Clunkers This is something you don't see everyday. I was driving down the highway when I spotted this car in the dumpster at a local dealership. I got off the exit and went to the dealership to get a closer look. I feel that there must be a political message here, why else would this be here. I would have loved to have been there when the car was placed in the dumpster.

tewmom > February 1, 2009 "Enter at own risk!" This is an abandoned building on the Tewksbury State Hospital grounds. The icicles are almost reaching the ground and blocking the window as if to keep everyone out. With the winter we are having, there are some amazing icicle formations around. I have been trying to capture icicles for a month and was excited to come across this building in all it's icy beauty. This hospital was established in 1852 and is still in operation today, not this part though.

I worked on editing my pictures from Ireland, so that is what I get to post today. This shot was taken at Blarney Castle, as you can see it was a beautiful sunny day. My daughter and I hung upside down at the top of the castle to kiss the Blarney stone. That was an unexpected experience, didn't realize you had to lie flat on your back and then bend backwards holding on to arm rails to be able to reach the stone. All is all great fun, we had some good laughs looking at everyone's photos that they take of you kissing the stone. Have a great day everyone!

tewmom > Ju.ly 6, 2009 Bermuda My husband and I are vacationing in beautiful Bermuda! I took this shot from the plane as we arrived on the island. It wasn't the greatest quality shot so I took the liberty of applying a watercolor effect to make it more like painting than a photo. Have a great day!

Blarney Castle

Yesterday was a rainy lazy Sunday. It was a great day to catch up on sleep and just relax. I worked on editing my pictures from Ireland, so that is what I get to post today. This shot was taken at Blarney Castle, as you can see it was a beautiful sunny day. My daughter and I hung upside down at the top of the castle to kiss the Blarney stone. That was an unexpected experience, didn't realize you had to lie flat on your back and then bend backwards holding on to arm rails to be able to reach the stone. All is all great fun, we had some good laughs looking at everyone's photos that they take of you kissing the stone.
