It began with torrential rain, then beautiful sunny skies to be quickly replaced with storm clouds and more rain. Then the winds kicked up as I was leaving the office at the end of the day. Our office borders some beautiful conservation land and the skies and light were just amazing as I was walking by. This shot was comprised of 2 images, one exposed for the sky and the other for the landscape. * The 2 shots were merged together using PS CS3 Merge to HDR function.
tewmom > March 30, 2009 Blarney Castle Yesterday was a rainy lazy Sunday. It was a great day to catch up on sleep and just relax. I worked on editing my pictures from Ireland, so that is what I get to post today. This shot was taken at Blarney Castle, as you can see it was a beautiful sunny day. My daughter and I hung upside down at the top of the castle to kiss the Blarney stone. That was an unexpected experience, didn't realize you had to lie flat on your back and then bend backwards holding on to arm rails to be able to reach the stone. All is all great fun, we had some good laughs looking at everyone's photos that they take of you kissing the stone. Have a great day everyone!
tewmom > March 27, 2009 Yes another shot from Ireland, this one was taken out of the bus window as we headed towards the town of Killarney. The brown landscape and setting sun really set the tone for this. It was strange to see brown after all the lush green fields I had passed during the day. Thank you all for the posts on yesterday's photo, greatly appreciated.
tewmom > March 26, 2009 Another Irish post today, but this time out of the city! This was taken at the Rock of Cashel, the castle was behind me, when I looked over the wall I was pleasantly surprised to see the sheep there. After being away for 10 days, I am swamped both at home and work and have had no time to get out and take pictures. Hopefully this weekend I can get back in the swing of things.
tewmom > March 16, 2009 While traveling on the bus to Cork, we went through some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. I took this through the bus window, for me, this is how I always pictured Ireland to look like.
tewmom > March 5, 2009 The Tewksbury State Hospital grounds are filled with theses wonderful old buildings, Many of which have seen better days, but add fresh snow and early morning sunshine they seem to be transformed back to their glory days. Have a great day everyone!
tewmom > March 3, 2009 March has started off with a roar, a Nor'easter dumped over a foot of snow on us. The storm made for a horrible commute to work. The plows were out in full force trying to clear the roads. Hopefully (fingers crossed), this is the last snow storm we will see this winter.

tewmom > February 5, 2009 "Winter Blues" As much as I complain about the snow, it has provided us with some spectacular scenery. I drove by this on my way to work yesterday, there were still a few flurries falling from our most recent storm. On a typical day you wouldn't look twice at this scene. However, this morning with the sun beginning to break through the clouds and the snow still clinging to the branches, it was just breathtaking. I processed the raw image using Capture NX2. I have CS3 but it does not recognize raw images from the D90. I have a 60 day trial on this software, trying to decide whether to purchase this or upgrade PS to CS4.
