This is a gallery of my attempt to take a photo a day in 2009. Sometimes my photos relfect just ordinary events of the day, sometimes they are more creative. I started this project so that my camera could come out of it's bag on a regular basis. I am currently using a Nikon D90 and a Canon G10 for all the images posted here. Comments and critiques are always welcomed, or if you don't want to leave a comment you can simply select a photo rank of Yeah or Neah by placing your mouse over the image and clicking on the red thumbs down or green thumbs up.

tewmom > March 17, 2009 I have always been fascinated by the Titanic tragedy, from the time I was very young, long before Leo & Kate! I think that I have read every book available and have watched almost every movie made about this. So I was thrilled to be in the exact spot where Titanic last visited before leaving for America. This is an artifact from the ship which was in the Cobh Titanic exhibit. It's good to be back from my trip, I have so many photos to weed through. It was a GREAT trip, Ireland is a beautiful country that I would definitely like to return to someday.
tewmom > March 13 Ireland Bound..... My daughter and I begin our trip today, this will be my last daily until I return. I will have lots of pictures to share when I return and will have to get caught up on all of your dailies. I think I am going to go through pc/blackberry withdrawal while away :D!
tewmom > March 12, 2009 "Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down......... " Early post this morning, I am wide awake at 3:00am thinking about all the things I need to do today to get ready for my trip on Friday. Little time for photography again yesterday, this is just a quick shot I grabbed while at lunch.
tewmom > March 11, 2009 This is just a quick shot of what I hope is my last wintery scene for the year :D!. I expect to be seeing lots of "green" very soon! The trees were really glistening in the morning sun yesterday after the lovely snow storm on Monday. Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my picture yesterday!
tewmom > March 10, 2009 Another shot from my visit to the zoo on Saturday. I didn't have any time yesterday to take any pictures. I am leaving for Ireland on Friday so this is a very busy week for me as I try to wrap up lose ends in work and prepare for the trip.
tewmom > March 9, 2009 My nephew John, #32, and his teammates at their basketball playoff game. They gave a good hustle but unfortunately lost the game and did not move up to the next level. There is always next year. On a side note, what a difference a day makes! We had the most incredible weather here this weekend, beautiful warm sunny days. Today back to winter, expecting 3-4 inches of snow to fall.
tewmom > March 8, 2009 What a day we had yesterday weather wise. The temperature hovered around 60 degrees, it was so nice. All the snow that fell on Monday is quickly disappearing. I have been eager to give my new 70-300 lens a test run so I headed off to the zoo. I think even the animals were enjoying the wonderful spring day, they seemed to be more active than usual. I was lucky to catch this cheetah as she was getting ready to settle down for a nap. She went through her cleaning routine then struck this pose, then curled up and went to sleep. I was surprised at how this well this came out considering it was shot through a filthy glass window.
tewmom > March 7, 2009 Sometimes you find potential photo subjects in the least likely places. This was a floral arrangement in the ladies room of a Thai Food restaurant I was having lunch in. Of course being part of the daily smugmug group, I had my camera with me :D!
tewmom > March 6, 2009 I couldn't help but notice the reflection coming off of this glass, from the morning sun pouring in through our kitchen window. The glass was empty at first which left the lines extruding out straight from the bottom. When I added water to the glass it changed the effect to this. I thought it was pretty cool! I applied a couple of Color Efex Pro filters for the final result.
tewmom > March 5, 2009 The Tewksbury State Hospital grounds are filled with theses wonderful old buildings, Many of which have seen better days, but add fresh snow and early morning sunshine they seem to be transformed back to their glory days. Have a great day everyone!
tewmom > March 4, 2009 Yesterday was my daughter's 19th birthday. We picked her up at school and went out to dinner. I took several shots at the restaurant, however, I was not happy with any of them. So I am breaking my rule and posting this image that I took back in November. We are so proud of the wonderful young lady she has become. Thank you all for the responses to my photo yesterday. I was humbly surprised to see it jump to the number 1 spot in my most popular photo list.
tewmom > March 3, 2009 March has started off with a roar, a Nor'easter dumped over a foot of snow on us. The storm made for a horrible commute to work. The plows were out in full force trying to clear the roads. Hopefully (fingers crossed), this is the last snow storm we will see this winter.
tewmom > March 2, 2009 I am out on a limb today with this shot, took several photos while at the mall yesterday. For some reason I liked these mannequin's in this store front display. I downloaded a trial version of Color FX Pro and was playing around with various filters on this image. Does anyone use this application? If so, any tips you would care to share? On a separate note, we are getting slammed with snow today, totals expectedt to be around 15 inches.As I write this my car is stuck in the driveway, hubby hadn't snow blowed it yet, and i was cocky enough to think I could plow through it with my front wheel drive car, D'OH!!!!! It was 60 degrees on Friday, arrrrggghh, got to love New England weather. As the saying goes, if you don't like the weather now just wait a few minutes...... Have a great day everyone!
tewmom > March 1, 2009 "Lacy" We had a doggy play date yesterday with our dogs. Lacy a Bichon Frise, Buddy a Rat Terrier and Chelsea a 13 week old Golden Retriever. My dog Buddy didn't last an hour, he just wanted to go home. Lacy was perfectly happy to find a cuddly spot to curl up in. Chelsea being the youngest in the group was game for anything. It was an interesting afternoon to say the least. :)
