This is a gallery of my attempt to take a photo a day in 2009. Sometimes my photos relfect just ordinary events of the day, sometimes they are more creative. I started this project so that my camera could come out of it's bag on a regular basis. I am currently using a Nikon D90 and a Canon G10 for all the images posted here. Comments and critiques are always welcomed, or if you don't want to leave a comment you can simply select a photo rank of Yeah or Neah by placing your mouse over the image and clicking on the red thumbs down or green thumbs up.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or inquiries at tewmom1@gmail.com.

Thanks for viewing my gallery!

Mall Madness

Only 3 shopping days left and the mall is full of crazy shoppers looking for last minute gifts and deals. American Eagle, Abercrombie, Bath & Body Works, Aerospostle, GAP..........so many stores, so many choices, only 72 hours left............... This was how we felt while shopping at the mall with a million strangers. Just navigating the parking lot and trying to find a space was challenge enough. As I was walking down the stairs by the food court I looked up and noticed the atrium glass roof. I really like how the mall is reflected in the glass in this dizzying effect, kind of how it felt just being at the mall.

Nor'Easter

Compared to the folks south of us, we got off pretty easy with this storm. Hard to tell the official total of snow, but I am guessing in my neck of the woods about 10 inches. Thankfully the storm wrapped up mid afternoon and then we were off to the mall to finish up the Christmas shopping.

Only 11 days to go, things are getting busy for everyone but the dogs. On a cold rainy day, my boys snuggled up by the fire getting all toasty warm.

Dreaming Of A Doggie Christmas

I’m dreaming of slow squirrel
One I could catch and make my toy
Or a lovely shoe
That I could chew
Would add greatly to my joy

I’m dreaming of a dog biscuit
Tall as a house and twice as wide
Little toys that squeak
And kids that shriek
And huge bones made of rawhide

I’m dreaming of a huge buffet
With all the plates at table’s edge
Grabbing hefty portions
Of people rations
Before they go in the fridge

I’m dreaming of a long walkie
One where I choose where I will go
Greeting doggie friends
Sniffing both ends
Our tails wagging to and fro

I'm dreaming of a soft pillow
all to myself and end of day
Where I snore the evening away
Storing energy for doggie play...

First Christmas

Our first Christmas ornament to adorn the tree as a married couple. This ornament has a double dose of sentimental value to me. The first is obvious, the second is that my wonderful aunt who at age 39 lost her battle with breast cancer gave this ornament to me and my husband on what turned out to be her last Christmas with us.

23 days....

Just a cute shot today that I took in Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday. I like this outside display, and had to take a shot. No room to get creative, the store was crowded and the aisle was narrow. I thought it would be an appropriate shot for today, being that there are only 23 more shopping days left. I

The second thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me:
Rigging up the lights ~ Bob Rivers Twelve Pains of Christmas

Why is it that every year the light we bought the previous year break. My son was replacing bulbs that apparently burnt out or broke since last year. Every year we have to go out and buy another set of lights, such a pain to me!

Cousins

I have attempted to capture a portrait of all the grandchildren for my in-laws for Christmas. Do you know how hard it is to get seven kids to cooperate even at this age. Yikes! I like how my son posed with the younger cousins surrounding him, looks like he has a posse! LOL

I took this shot for the November Scavenger Hunt, the subject being eyes. The actual shot kind of creeped me out so I started playing around with various filters in PS. I don't think I could recreate this if I tried, lost track of all the different things I tried. I liked the end result, hope you do to.

The many faces of Jared!

Another compilation from Thanksgiving. My nephew has the most expressive face, he was sitting next to me and I just shot off a few pics as he sat and made faces. When I was processing them, I decided that they had to be put into a collage. I will be printing this and framing it for his Mom. I used Picasa to put the collage together, converted to B&W and applied a border shadow.

Generations

What a wonderful Thanksgiving day with all the family and a few dear friends. I took this shot of my husbands Mom, sister, and our daughter, three beautiful loving woman that I am grateful to have in my life each and every day.

I attempted to take portraits of my nephews for my sister in law. The sun was high in the sky with not a cloud in site. Actually a beautiful day to be outdoors, but a nightmare to photograph in. I am not sure how I should have handled this, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

What a beautiful fall morning, I was out photographing the leaves in my pj's and flip flops, hope the neighbors were sleeping in. LOL. Tyson came out to see what I was doing and I was able to get him to sit amongst the fallen oak leaves for this portrait. Buddy came out as well but was not being cooperative. Anyone have any tips on how to get them to sit together for a portrait..... :)
